Default What do you think of this 1916 Babe Ruth?

I am going to go and check this card out later in the week. After looking on line at the certified ones, It looks close to those. Also, I found a site that compared the fake ones to the real ones, and a lot of things matched up.

Having never held one of these cards, what is the general thickness of these cards? Also, if I look at them through a loupe shoule the ink marks be splotchy? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Doesn't look right
The corners look like they were manufactured instead of true wear

Looks artificially aged and corners are a little too perfectly rounded.

The corners were another one of my concerns. Thanks for the quick replies.

Can I say again that I love Net54? So glad to have you guys around. I'm sure I'll be posting threads like this one pretty often while I still have my "learner's permit", so to speak.

Default Ruth

I agree with Jay & Pete above, those corners look too rounded for normal wear. Also, the back and the front borders look too white, not that typical "cream" color as an original.

As the saying goes, why is a card like that not authenticated? - probabaly because it's not real.

Tony
