What is the deal with this Horstman card. It looks like a 1916 with the blue background , but it states 1915 on the front. I was the underbidder because I'm trying to collect the 1916's, but they never come up for sale. Do all 1916 format Horstman's state 1915 on the front? Any help is appreciated...

I was an underbidder as well. Can't explain the discrepancy but it is a 1916. Never noticed it before. Maybe Andrew can chime in.

The card is a 1916. All Horstman's have the date incorrect on front as "1915"...
In addition, the Larsen and Ryan are also mistakes as they have "191" and "1915" as the dates, respectively. -Rhett

As Rhett indicated, all 1916 Horstman cards were printed with "1915" on the front. Anyone have ideas why this mistake was made on every known card? As far as mistakes go, it is a strange mistake to end up in the final print run. Mark might have some insight on this. Much (most?) of the Zeenut printing process remains a mystery.
