This year marks the 9th Annual Net54baseball National Dinner. It will be held right across the street from the Rosemont Convention Center at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare-

The Dinner will be on the Friday of the National, August 5, 2011 and will run from 6:30pm until 1am. It is open for all Net54baseball members and family who have RSVP'd. Kids are welcome but our audience is real life and there will be alcohol flowing so some minor cussing is to be expected, just lettin' ya' know. There will be appetizers, dinner and an open bar with alcohol and soft drinks the whole time. Everything will be free. As usual I will be the emcee for the night and will be the bearer of drink tickets. We have never run out of drink tickets so don't worry about that aspect. EVERYONE will be required to wear a little paper name tag, with first and last name, which will be supplied at the event (just as before). You can not remain anonymous at the Dinner. ... I will need a first and last name of RSVP's for those attending. If you don't RSVP you will not be able to attend. We will have speakers at 7:30pm and then Dinner will be served after them, which should be right around 8:15-8:30. The speakers will be entertaining and will be very recognized names in the hobby. I will keep the speaker's names a surprise for now.....If you are planning on coming to the dinner and NOT eating I still need to know and you STILL need to RSVP, as I have to know how many tables, bartenders etc.... to have. Please let me know if you will be having dinner when you RSVP.I am expecting 150-200 people and it should be a blast. Last year we had about 165 in attendance. So without further ado you can RSVP in this thread or email me at leonl@flash.net. If you email me I WILL confirm with you and if I don't then that means you are NOT RSVP'd. Sometimes emails go to spam so make sure you get an email back from me if you email me. This thread is really the best way to RSVP but emails are ok too. best regards

Thanks to everyone who has registered so far. We are at around 80 and we'll see how it goes for the head count. Hey, if it is less than expected we might get an extra appetizer on the budget!!

BTW, I am also looking for 1-2 more speakers....so if anyone wants to send me an email with thoughts I would appreciate it. We have 2 confirmed and they are really good ones. It would be nice to add 1-2 more....but if not then I will show ya'll some of my dance moves . That in itself will be worth the price of admission. I have absolutely no rhythm or dancing abilities....but with multiple alcoholic beverages I become "Dance Fever"....

SO the final tally is 168 RSVP's......with 148 coming to the Dinner portion and 20 coming afterwards. I will be turning in the food order on Monday or Tuesday so if anyone's plans change, that rsvp'd, please let me know asap. Please remember there is the Legendary Auction that night and most of those 20 folks coming after dinner are the ones going to it first, which is perfectly fine. If you didn't realize that auction was the same night, and want to go there instead of the dinner and come over afterwards, no problem, please let me know. I will have the RSVP spreadsheet with me and if you aren't on it you won't be coming to the dinner for dinner or drinks. You can show up and security will gladly escort you out. If you think because you are a friend you didn't have to register, you will be speaking with security as they show you the door.

If my best friend in the world was throwing a party and he asked everyone to RSVP, then I would do it, or realize I wouldn't be attending. Same here.....
