9th Annual Net54baseball National Dinner RSVP thread!!
This year marks the 9th Annual Net54baseball National Dinner. It will be held right across the street from the Rosemont Convention Center at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare- Hyatt Regency O'Hare 9300 Bryn Mawr Avenue, Rosemont, Illinois, USA 60018 Tel: +1 847 696 1234 http://www.ohare.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp?null **I want to personally thank our primary sponsor, Chris Ivy and staff at Heritage Auctions, as without them there wouldn't be a dinner this year. Their support is most appreciated. Please remember them in your hobby endeavors!! The Dinner will be on the Friday of the National, August 5, 2011 and will run from 6:30pm until 1am. It is open for all Net54baseball members and family who have RSVP'd. Kids are welcome but our audience is real life and there will be alcohol flowing so some minor cussing is to be expected, just lettin' ya' know. There will be appetizers, dinner and an open bar with alcohol and soft drinks the whole time. Everything will be free. As usual I will be the emcee for the night and will be the bearer of drink tickets. We have never run out of drink tickets so don't worry about that aspect. EVERYONE will be required to wear a little paper name tag, with first and last name, which will be supplied at the event (just as before). You can not remain anonymous at the Dinner. :) ... I will need a first and last name of RSVP's for those attending. If you don't RSVP you will not be able to attend. We will have speakers at 7:30pm and then Dinner will be served after them, which should be right around 8:15-8:30. The speakers will be entertaining and will be very recognized names in the hobby. I will keep the speaker's names a surprise for now.....If you are planning on coming to the dinner and NOT eating I still need to know and you STILL need to RSVP, as I have to know how many tables, bartenders etc.... to have. Please let me know if you will be having dinner when you RSVP.I am expecting 150-200 people and it should be a blast. Last year we had about 165 in attendance. So without further ado you can RSVP in this thread or email me at leonl@flash.net. If you email me I WILL confirm with you and if I don't then that means you are NOT RSVP'd. Sometimes emails go to spam so make sure you get an email back from me if you email me. Thanks to everyone who has registered so far. We are at around 80 and we'll see how it goes for the head count. Hey, if it is less than expected we might get an extra appetizer on the budget!! :)
BTW, I am also looking for 1-2 more speakers....so if anyone wants to send me an email with thoughts I would appreciate it. We have 2 confirmed and they are really good ones. It would be nice to add 1-2 more....but if not then I will show ya'll some of my dance moves :). That in itself will be worth the price of admission. I have absolutely no rhythm or dancing abilities....but with multiple alcoholic beverages I become "Dance Fever".... |

Reading all of these posts and Leon's description of the events really makes me wish I could be there to meet all of you, since this board's been so great in so many ways. Unfortunately, the wife's 400-person family reunion is being held in Mississippi the very same weekend, and I was informed very succinctly that there would be "consequences" if I even attempted to make contrary plans.
