Default Big Head Strip Cards

Picked up a bargain (in my opinion) a couple of weeks ago. Haven't seen many of these lately.

I know it has been trimmed and missing some of the corner, but was very happy with the price and a chance to have a type card.

thoughts ?

Nice card. For some strange reason I like these cards! I still regret selling my Hornsby last year. Dan

Besides the W503's and 1915 W-Unc's, which are probably not really W cards, the Big Heads are at the top of my faves in the category. Did I mention I only need Ruth and Cobby (hint hint) to be complete. I just showed these in another thread but they certainly fit in this one. I remember a board member selling his full set in REA a few years back and he got crazy (good) money for it.... I think $12 was a steal for that card. Congrats.....

Default Great set

I like this set as well but sold most of the ones I had. I kept the Schalk for my Schalk set, and it doubles nicely as a type.

I find it a fnd interesting set. You see them priced very high at times and very low at others. Even with the damage $12 is a steal just based on the rarity and the clean image.

20+ years ago, I bought a Big Head Ray Schalk card because I didn't have any Ray Schalk cards. But I thought it was especially ugly, and I wondered if I should throw it away---something that I have never contemplated regarding any other baseball card. But now I'm glad that I kept it.
