Default Huggins and Scott winnings

Anyone win anything in Huggins and Scott? It seemed like I was on a dry spell except for the Oxford PC on our BST yesterday. Glad to knock this one off the list...

My one and only winning. And probably one of my last purchases for at least a year (I have one more small card purchase planned). Nothing like home improvements to strain the card budget (or bring it to an absolute halt.)

I lost out on the "Potpourri" of 32 caramel and tobacco cards. I'd really like the e103s out of that group just in case anyone from Net 54 managed to win that group.

I did manage to pick up both the group of 7 e92 Croft's Candy cards as well as the group of 5 t215 Red Crosses though....

Default and another

But wait there is more

I still can't figure out where the other bidder was on this one last night? Three months ago the, almost identical but not quite as nice card, went for almost double what this one did (see link)? I thought I would lose out...

Leon- you had a big night snagging two top line cards, not to mention the postcard (I'm posting gratuitously now to reach my 2000th post. I can feel it coming).

Leon, the other bidder never showed up? Huggins and Scott is a big outfit, you would think their catalogs would hit all the same bidders.

I picked up this near century-old relic which has endured the decades with well-defined corners and edges along with a precise surface registration and looks old. Inoffensive chipping along the delicate borders proudly frames the clear image of the fearsome Tiger great but so what. The Piedmont advertising reverse is clean and problem-free and doesn't say Reprint anywhere. Modest tobacco-induced discoloration on the obverse prevents an even higher technical assessment if you're keeping score. For the Cobb enthusiast and T205 collector, this premier relic is difficult to match; only 700 graded by PSA with just 200 in a more exalted tier.

David, keep your day job. Your description did not leave me drooling and begging all of my friends to run the card up, only to be topped by me at the last second.

No. It didn't. But it did leave room for that card to be flipped in a future auction of another rival!

Default btw

BTW, I was contacted by the underbidder on the Lindy card I won. He's a very good friend and someone I spend a lot of time with at the National shows. I was also contacted by a few bidders on the Goodwin one. There is no doubt in my mind that the Goodwin auction was completely legit. The 2nd-card-out theory held up on this one......

Gosh Leon don't set the record straight now. I just hate when facts get added to the mix it just kills a good ol' Net54 style lynching.

Well there goes this thread...
