Let's see some uncut sheets....any sheet from 1887 - 1967
Hey guys,
How's about showing off some of your uncut sheets. I'll start this show with these 4 sheets which comprise a complete W560 set**....circa 1927 . . ** Incidentally, this set has been mis-classified....obviously, these are not strip cards. Here's a few
1908 E91A strips I"m working on a '41 Playball set in uncut form. With the ones below and a stack of others that aren't framed I'm down to needing 16. '34 World Wide Gum 1940 W711-2 set '48 Leaf Boxing, with a few missing their heads These last 3 are a bit past Ted's cutoff, but they are some of my favorites so I hope it's ok to include them. '53 Bowman '55 Topps '64 Topps Giants, debunking the myth of short prints that was already pretty obvious to anyone that collected this set from vending packs |

1949 BOWMAN (3rd series sheet)
The GRAY (or SLATE) cards on this 3rd series sheet are normally either GREEN or ORANGE. This color printing mistake on this particular sheet occurred
occasionally, as a considerable number of these 17 mis-colored subjects have been found over the years. HOFers featured on this sheet...... . TED Z T206 Reference . |

1949 BOWMAN (4th series sheet)
The BOWMAN GUM company got us kids all excited in the Summer of 1949 when they issued these 36 cards with facsimile autographs on their backs.
In 1982, I traded a 1951 Bowman Mantle (Vg) rookie card for this sheet in a Sports Shop in Media, Pennsylvania. 4th series (cards # 109 -144) ..........................HOFer .........................................and, in my opinion a HOFer . . TED Z T206 Reference . |

Hi # series....7th sheet (simulation)
As noted earlier, to the best of my knowledge, the 7th sheet of the 1949 Bowman set has yet to be discovered. I've arranged these 36 cards based on my research.
.................................................. .................................................. ....................................^------------------^ There are 12 new Rookie cards introduced on this sheet. And, 4 of them are HOFers. Five retired players are included on this sheet. George McQuinn has a great story....in the twilight of his BB career of how he "sparked" the NY Yankees into winning the AL Pennant in 1947. That June, he was the AL batting leader (.392). His defensive play at 1st base was outstanding. HOFer's in the 12 re-printed variations For more detailed information regarding this enigmatic BB card set, check-out the 1949 Bowman article in the Spring 1983 issue of BASEBALL CARDS magazine authored by Ralph Triplette and Ted Zanidakis. I'd be curious if there is a 2nd 67 sheet from that series. If so, all the cards are printed equally. If not -- we have 44 DP's and 44 regular prints. Or 44 SP's and 44 regular prints depending on how you look at your glass (Half full or Half empty)

The other half sheet has Alston at top left, so the cards are printed in equal quantities (except for checklist). 88 unique cards printed, so 3 of each across the two half-sheets.

...I really want to get that gorgeous Dom Dimaggio cut out of this and send it off for grading but never seem to find the time to do it properly. The other guys I'll just probably use for coasters. .. |

He is referring to the 1967 Topps sheet in post #44 on page one, he is saying the accompanying sheet to that one has the the four rows starting with Alston double printed so that all of the cards are equally printed on the full 264 card double sheet.
