I was looking over a few of mine from the set today and became intrigued by the inner gray border that seperates the inner photo and the white border on them. I included scans of my Derrick and McFarlin. I've noticed that the size of this gray border varies drastically. It can be very fat like on the McFarlin, a bit skinner like on the Derrick or even not even there on some except at the bottom. Does anyone know the story behind this ? Was this a result of poor product control or just the design. I would imagine it would have been easier to make every card with the same inner gray border but apparently it wasn't that way. Also, if I were to find another McFarlin, would the inner gray border on it be the same as mine or could it be possibly skinner or even fatter ? Thanks in advance for any help. |

Wow Scott, nice card. I talked about this with another T209 collector who says he has seen a few of the all black borders like yours. Another question, regarding the B.E. Thompson card. It is obviously the most famed card in the set for obvious reasons, but what about the back of it. It is completely different than any other series 2 backs except the Contentinea logo on the back. Was the card possibly given out as some type of promotional item ? It also mentions to save Thompson's photo, any idea if you could possibly redeem it for anything ? |

Scott-I could use the Andrada as an upgrade (mine is trimmed). Unfortunately, I don't have any you need. I have my cards at the bank but I don't recall any others with the black frame line. |

I give up. What's so special about the B.E.Thompson card? |

I guess it isn't as special as it is a neat image. The famous Uncle Sam card. |

It's a cool image, it's a tough to find card if you're collecting the set, and it's a bit of a mystery. Who the heck was he? People have didn't opinions on who he was....president of the league, manager, uncle sam's bastard child, etc. |

The font on the two wilson cards looks similar to the type 1s. Wonder is all the wilson cards have the same font. |
