Keep in mind that the easiest variations to find of Evers is the one with Chicago written down his shirt -- his portrait card and his batting card with blue background and Cubs on his shirt are much rarer and will go for substantially more as a result. Similarly, the Red Portrait version of Chance is also quite rare and will sell for more than his Chicago on shirt variation. Each of the Tinkers are a bit hard to come by, but the most valuable appears to be his portrait. |

T206, that was an incredible read. I have never seen that before, despite being a big fan of the trio. Regards and thanks again, Dan. |

that Evers never forgave Tinker for a wild throw that broke his hand....even society was bad then as they never made up. |

evers was IMO, out of the trio the only real hall of famer, after being dumped by the cubs in 1914,he teamed with a young shortstop rabbit maranville and led a inspired boston braves to a pennant over mcgraws favored giants. then beating macks famed al champs in 4 straight.most likely the greatest underdogs to ever win a world championship in the history of major league ball. evers was the nl mvp that year. |

You asked about a checklist of vintage Cubs cards . . . I can't provide that, but I recommend going for the E93's of the 3 players. Admittedly, I am an E card die-hard, but I think the poses are phenomenal, and it will be a much more rewarding challenge to get the E93's than the T206's (and a better investment IMO). Anything under $300 for a graded VG/EX example would be a very fair deal, and $200 for a graded VG would be a ballpark. |
