Postwar regional type album

Hey,
Anybody's who's interested in postwar regionals and oddball issues might want to check out the album I've created of my type collection in that area. Mostly 1946-62 and then it peters out - still got a lot of 1960s types to add. It's not my central collecting focus but it's been fun to build it (especially since most of them are relatively CHEAP!!!)

Thanks for sharing Tim. When I started collecting old cards in Southern California in the mid-1970s, 1950s regionals were what the serious older collectors were chasing. While the cards don't get as much attention today, I find them to be more interesting than just about any other subcategory of cards — there's certainly more variety, and I love all the advertising for hot dogs, soda pop, potato chips, etc. The 1946-62 era is such a gold mine for type collectors.

Tim, I have had a set of cards for years that measure roughly 4" x 5" I haven't been able to identify but I see one listed on your page as 1947 Maxwell Hardware Oakland Oaks. Where did you come across the manufacturer information?

Mine have a stamped name (looks factory) of the subject on back in black or red. Very cool to possibly put a name to a set. Just as a bit of information I have 20 different cards with the names on back and 2 cards that look to have been distributed with them showing the outfield wall and image of the field (game in progress) that have no stamp on back but were found together. So potentially a 20 or 22 card set? Also they probably date to 1948 (or 1949) based on the players I have

Nice work!

As an oddball lover, I see quite a few of my favorites in there. I find it very interesting that many of these series continue to be so inexpensive to collect and yet so darn hard to find.
