I’m on the fence between purchasing one of these two cards right now.

What grade on the Mantle? I’d say wait to buy a Jordan right now as prices are very inflated.

My advice is if you want an investment, buy a low-cost index fund. If you want a good looking card, buy the Mantle.

I don't know why people ask investment advice on a baseball card forum. Do they ask baseball card questions of their investment advisor? Last edited by vintagetoppsguy; 05-31-2021 at 09:45 AM. |

Considering the bigger names: I would go baseball over basketball all day. The Mantle rookie is always breaking records and there is a trickle effect on his other cards.
Would I invest in cards? Only money I could afford to lose and not for retirement. |

I don't think you'll make much on either one. The time has passed. But if you don't want to lose money, I'd say the Mantle.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m a collector not an investor. This would be something I plan on holding onto till the day I die but it’s always nice to see a card you own jump in value.

Buy a card you will enjoy owning and you won't regret either purchase.
