I’m on the fence between purchasing one of these two cards right now.

What grade on the Mantle? I’d say wait to buy a Jordan right now as prices are very inflated.

Murrdogg24 05-30-2021 04:20 PM

My bad I forgot to include grade. Mantle is sgc 4.

Seems like Jordan is starting to level out

My advice is if you want an investment, buy a low-cost index fund. If you want a good looking card, buy the Mantle.

MANTLE

I MENTION THAT NAME AND NO PROBLEM ZERO FEAR!!

If you’re talking investment these five guys are your number one forget the other ones with that word “INVESTMENTl”

These Guys EQUAL INVESTMENT

RUTH, COBB, JACKIE, MANTLE, and MAYS…..

I don't know why people ask investment advice on a baseball card forum. Do they ask baseball card questions of their investment advisor?

Considering the bigger names: I would go baseball over basketball all day. The Mantle rookie is always breaking records and there is a trickle effect on his other cards.

Would I invest in cards? Only money I could afford to lose and not for retirement.

I don't think you'll make much on either one. The time has passed. But if you don't want to lose money, I'd say the Mantle.

The investment advisor might have a fairly solid answer these days, depending on the baseball card question.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m a collector not an investor. This would be something I plan on holding onto till the day I die but it’s always nice to see a card you own jump in value.

Buy a card you will enjoy owning and you won't regret either purchase.
