Fun with auction write ups
Nice Gehrig check for sale in recent Goldin catalog, and no doubt will fetch a princely sum. Have to admit though this line left me scratching my head a little:
"The date of this check, April 30th, is significant, as Gehrig played the final game of his career exactly nine years later, on April 30, 1939." Huh. Really. Maybe coincidental, but not sure significant.
