I bought this Fatty Arbuckle card from a fellow member recently and started doing some research today. It appears similar, but different than the other W513s I've seen, especially the font the name is in.
Either way, I'm very happy with the card and I don't care what it is, I just want to accurately know. The seller could be totally right, as I know nothing about these cards. Thanks! |

W519 technically is only for baseball players. Plus the 3 W519 sets all have a different font.
Your Arbuckle with its hand printed caption and its high number has the same design as W522 but would have a different ACC#. looking at my old ACC I dont think Burdick had a # that fit that card, al the sets that include Movie Stars have different numbering or are unnumbered or B&W. Maybe go over to the NonSport side and see what set they bunch that card with as it really doesnt fit any of the sets listed between W511-W545. My guess is it may be considered a W512??? or maybe a W538 or W539 Last edited by fkw; 08-06-2011 at 01:35 PM. |

I've had this one for quite a while.
According to this source, they appear to be variations from the same unnumbered set. http://www.moviecard.com/zamerican/s...slantcaps.html http://www.moviecard.com/zamerican/s...t-arbuckle.jpg ![]()

Hi Jarrod!
Great cards of Roscoe! I love the card of him eating a baseball. I think it's a Zeenut card. Truly tragic story regarding this suberb entertainer. Last edited by bh3443; 08-08-2011 at 06:04 PM. Reason: forgot text |

If I were to send this to PSA with a question mark in the "Type" field, would they do their best to slab it appropriately or just reject it?

In looking at Burdick's numbering it seems like they could be W538 or a few others. I have them as W519 but I don't think that is correct. I don't see a definitive answer right now. I might grab my 1950 Bray- Book of Checklists to see if he check-listed it, if I have some time today.
