SI article Cobb vs Lajoie 1910
Sports Illustrated, 9/20/2010, has an interesting article about the famous race for the 1909 batting title race between Ty Cobb and Napoleon Lajoie. The article has pictures of two T-206's, Cobb portrait with red background and the Lajoie with bat.
I enjoyed the article, but evidently author, L. Jon Wertheim missed the recent Ty Cobb/Al Stump discussion on net54baseball.com He refers to Stump's biography at least three times. He even repeats the shotgun story. Will truth in history ever overcome Stump's sickening hatch job and exploitation of Cobb? Last edited by Jerry G; 09-17-2010 at 10:09 AM.
