Pretty straight vanilla, but definitely a highlight in my collection. I'm still as thrilled with it as I was the day I got it from Toby in a trade.

My only Ruth - I can still remember the first time I saw it, out of cigar box full of '33 Goudeys - Pretty neat.

Nice Exhibit Martin. Wonder if a newsphoto was used, with that white and hilighting around Ruth's cap and bat. Was any work done on his face or elsewhere?
Boy, there's a ton of GHR stuff out there. Amazing thread. |

Walter, After extensive research (Boston Public School level that is). I couldn't find anything more on the 'bird' photo, but there was some thought provoking discussion on this a year back. As a bonus, there was a rare humorous comment by Adam.

Does Ruth have any cards of him fielding? No playing catch or throwing, but actually fielding a ball?

Before he died, my family was close friends with the Babe's mascot, Little Ray Kelly. He had the greatest stories I ever heard and it turned out the Babe found him after driving through his neighborhood and seeing him playing catch with his dad.
