Pretty straight vanilla, but definitely a highlight in my collection. I'm still as thrilled with it as I was the day I got it from Toby in a trade.

Steve M, You beat me to it. Though your M114 is cleaner. Very nice example.

Nice Exhibit Martin. Wonder if a newsphoto was used, with that white and hilighting around Ruth's cap and bat. Was any work done on his face or elsewhere?

Walter, After extensive research (Boston Public School level that is). I couldn't find anything more on the 'bird' photo, but there was some thought provoking discussion on this a year back. As a bonus, there was a rare humorous comment by Adam. ;)

The Babe
Dave,
I also love that picture! A Great Shot!:D:D:D |
Does Ruth have any cards of him fielding? No playing catch or throwing, but actually fielding a ball?
James |
David's 1921 Exhibit above shows Ruth ready for a liner.
|
Beautiful wirephotos, Al.

One of my favorite original photos:
http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j2...katz/babes.jpg Ruth in Miami, Spring 1948--nearing the end: http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j2...ruthsp1948.jpg |
Before he died, my family was close friends with the Babe's mascot, Little Ray Kelly. He had the greatest stories I ever heard and it turned out the Babe found him after driving through his neighborhood and seeing him playing catch with his dad.
|
The Babe
David thankyou I have more so if time permits I will post them up. I also wanted to say to you that you have some of the nicest items I have ever seen when it comes to the Yankees. That Ruth baseball has got to be one of the best sigs I have ever seen!:eek::eek:
