Unless there is a good reason we shouldn't be resurrecting months old threads. I just popped one back to where it should have been as there was some controversy and it had been taken care of. I consider this an operational situation and not a censoring one. IF you are well known on the board and there is a good reason to bring an old one back, then fine. A new thread can always be started ..... |

I'm not sure why it's happening, but I've noticed that new posters most often do it because they don't know how to start a new thread. I'm not sure why that last fella resurrected that last thread...the only thing I can think of is he did a search for Steve's collectibles and that thread must have come up even though the thread had nothing to do with "Steve's collectibles". |

It likely happens that someone finds an old thread on a google search, reads it then adds his comments to the others. He may not even think about whether or not the thread is old, as it's new to him. |

You might be right. But then it's my right to take care of it too. If that person comes back and sees his thread is gone he might/should email me. I will let him know to start a new thread. I have no issue talking about stuff, especially when folks aren't anonymous, but I think they really should know what they are doing BEFORE they post. I try to handle things a lot more gently than I used to...best regards |

Is it a housekeeping thing, or harder to deal with, operationally? |

Jason, there really is nothing wrong with it if it's relevant to the thread. What's been occurring lately is newbies posting to threads with a message that is completely irrelevant to the topic. |

I am in agreement with Dan. There is no real harm but in that instance there was some controversy and it was brought back to light for a reason that had nothing to do with the topic of the original thread. I would prefer old threads not be brought back up BUT won't pop them back unless there is a reason...again, in this case, since the new post had nothing to do with the thread I popped it back. IF someone brings back an innocuous T206 thread, or other informative thread, I would let it go. I always have a reason, right or wrong, for what I do....and try not to interfere too much. best regards |

I remember when someone who had never posted before resurrected many ancient threads by adding irrelevant, meaningless comments. It happened at approx 3am, likely with a few drinks involved, and resembled spam (the board suddenly filled with irrelevant stuff, blocking out the real current topics). So I appreciate Leon being conscious of the issue. |

There's a disconnect between old and new threads. Sometimes a poster responds to a comment made six months ago, and that previous poster may not even remember what he wrote. He may not even open the thread this time around. |
