Here is an unusual postcard of small town team with Cobb in the team picture. He does stand out doesn't he.

Great photo, Joe. You can make out "Ypsi" behind the head of the 3rd guy standing on the right - I assume that could only be Ypsilanti. Wonder why Ty made a trip out for the day...

Yeh, pretty sure it is Ypsilanti, michigan. Hard to say why he was there. But with uniform , maybe there were other Detroit players there that day.

The Tigers did have spring training in Ypsilanti in 1902 (before Cobb), and the town is home to Eastern Michigan University and its athletic facilities. It's much possible that the Tigers were in town for a practice, pre-season or exhibition game.
