I'll kick it off with a trio of vintage original TYPE I photographs (since that's mostly what I collect).

There are very few times that this particular card is so relevent so pardon the interruption with a "card". This Sports Co. of America Ruth is fairly common by normal standards, a bit scarce but still can be found. The reason this is probably 100x more rare is that it has a copyright of 1927 instead of the normal (for this series) 1926 copyright date. You can see it on the lower left of the back. I can only think of one series (E126), besides maybe a strip card, that was produced with Ruth in 1927. So here is his 1927 (only 2-3 known) Sports Co of America card...

Here is a 1927 New York Chauffeur's license. Sources close to me say it was worn by a cab driver who picked up Babe Ruth and four of his girlfriends after a World Series game for a night on the town, then took Gehrig and his Mom out to dinner the next night, then drove Lazzeri and his wife to a party, and probably kept all the team unis in the trunk. In fact, this was probably pinned to the Babe's jersey and worn by the cabby to show off to his buddies and scam free beer. So when you think about it, this is some very serious collecting hardware. Any 1927 Yanks collection that is missing this piece has a significant hole that must cause hours of restless sleep. Despite all this historical significance, I am going to ALLOW the first person who emails me to steal it from my collection for $40 and GIVE them an opportunity to complete an otherwise shell of a collection

The King of Clout goes yard in Game 4 of the 1927 World Series...
1927worldseries1.jpg Moments later, Babe is greeting by Gehrig at home with a smack on the keister with his bat. I guess this could be the 1927 version of the low five... 1927worldseries2.jpg And a ticket stub to said game. Thanks to all for posting such wonderful items on this thread. Sincerely, Jimmy 1927worldseriesticket.jpg |

Ok Jimmy...you asked for it man
![]() This one below I just love. Obviously, I would rather have one without every player's name written in ink but man..history rules. This image is just fantastic..crystal clear. I bought this for 35 dollars; (1%) of the what I spent for the Ruth/Gehrig image below. I like them equally as well with the price factored in. This just shows that one does not have to sell the farm to enjoy this fantastic hobby(own something virtually impossible to find even with unlimited resources). "All you need is love". ![]()
