Agreed with both Paul and Lance - not a 10 with that centering. |

That left edge looks extremely suspect to me. It might just be the scan though. Bat ears? |

I think centering on a PSA 10 can be 55/45 which this card probably falls just inside of.. the back can be obviously worse.. I wsa thinking the same thing about the age of the flip.. but am not that familiar either. Does anyone recall what the last common T206 PSA 10 sold for?

With a badly centered back like that, makes you wonder when they will start giving out 11's. |

I saw the card in person and thought it was overgraded. Perfect corners, great color, but should be a 9. |

I think the real point is that a 10 should be darn near perfect. A better example would be easy to differentiate. |

There also appears to be a small dot above "the" on the back and a slight smear under the "I" in Piedmont. |

that the card may be one purchased for 20,000. (with or without the buyer's PENALTY?) and a current sales expectation/estimate @ 15,000. in a MAJOR auction. When faced with that one can - cut loses and sell - buy another @ anything less than 20,000. and average the price of the two |

I still find it hard to believe that people can be separated from their $$$ because of "the" number. I guess there are lots of people willing to fork out a lot of money because of someone's opinion. The following was copied directly from the PSA web site: |

Maybe Charlie can tell us why it sold for 'so little.' And why London Ventures continues to run hundreds of private auctions when it previously gave as a reason for this that it was due to a mistake. |

PSA seems pretty variable on their OC designation...sometimes you see it...sometimes you don't?! This card is an 8-9...at best...to me...and may even warrant a qualifier. |

Steve, I fully agree with you. There seems to be a fine line between criticizing a grading company's standard and our own standards. I do, however, that this card should not be a 10 simply based on their own requirements. |

$10K wasn't paid for a common T206 that most collectors would value at a few hundred. The label was purchased for $10K. Dan. |

Wow, I don't know how London Ventures figured out how to make its auctions non-private! Must have taken a real leap in faith for them to unblock their auctions and remove the reserve. Somehow I think they'll figure out a way to continue to get good prices on their cards, though. |
