The text states {Improvement of these flaws could easily render a higher grade if re-submitted } |

Isn't card doctoring an accepted technology? Of course the cost effectiveness is improved if the card owner is the handyman for some of it. No? |

I suppose he means that if you were to crack the holder, remove the card, remove the paper remnant and clean the stain the card may come back as a 4 (or even higher). Sometimes those remnants come off pretty easy, but if they don't you're going to get stuck with a 1 or 2 (probably 2) because of the paper loss. If you were to wipe the stain clean with a little water then that really wouldn't count as altering the card. The use of chemicals may be frowned upon buy distilled water is usually acceptable. I suppose you could clean off the remnant and the stain and take your chances. Who knows, with the consistently inconsistent graders the card may come back as a 3 after all has been cleaned. |

on what you do or consider cleaning. if you take a nylon and rub it over a two dimensional fossilized bugger on the card that cracks off,I would say no one is going to have a problem with that.Distilled water, car wash, detergent, buffing and bondo-yes! |

...were cards that I removed paper residue from before submitting to SGC. I used water and QTips and the techniques described on this board periodically. The highest grade I ever got was an SGC 70/5.5, with a card that had half of its back covered in paper -- it came off quite easily with no residue and dried perfect. Nice card! |

Scott,i was just joking. If you check the link i included mid-sentence you will see what Pete just said, this card which was supposed to be back in a long term collection and reduced for the last time, was immediately relisted by the seller for significantly less.So if you can afford it now and you really want it then you did yourself a favor by not bidding |
