I wish that people weren't so darned sensitive about how a few of the people here write or present themselves. This is the b/s/t. Let's leave it at that. |

You're right. I was worried that my sarcasm would be perceived as bitterness or something of the sort. I was only joking around. I really don't care how Bruce presents themselves. |

I see your point on the 17.5% but not on the other 10%. I don't know many consignors that pay the 10% and I know I have never paid it. I guess those that want to sell will have to be the judge because it all comes down to what you consider the "market rate" to be. The 17.5% won't mean much if that rate can't be agreed. |

I dont mind Bruce and have done some transactions with him the past so this comment is for informational purposes only and in no way attacking him. However, if you have an ultra high grade card from one of those sets, not only are you talking 0% consigners fee, but you can negotiate a cut off the buyers end as well with many auction houses so you should end up with maybe 10%-12% total off the sales price with 5% or so of the buyers premium coming back into your pocket. So instead of a 27% theoritical "cut" off your cards calue, the reality is more like 10%-12% or even more depending on the card itself and the value of it. |

And just to be clear...even though Bruce will pay market price, you are limiting yourself to one buyer here. Often large auction houses attract people that this board does not. If it is the right card and rare enough, a bigger auction house might be the way to go to get more exposure and competition. Remember, Bruce is bidding against himself here...in an auction you may have two whales bid up the card higher than Bruce is offering and your 10-15% will not matter. |

Dave- how can there be a market price on something that never comes to market? I doubt this is considered high grade but even it would probably be close to 10k... |

Thanks guys for helping to make my point. The only way to know the market rate for the cards Bruce is asking for is to put the items up for bid. |

Bruce, there is a Lections HOF'er on eBay right now being sold by a board member. It is an SGC 30...which is clearly fairly high condition for this issue...I look forward to seeing it posted in the next pickup thread by yourself and or you guys. |
