I don't think this guy's a scammer, just misinformed.
This is not a $200,000 card. This is technically not an antique. However, he obviously believes it is, because he keeps it in a bank vault. If the back story is on the level I don't want to be the one to break it to him.

The really odd thing is that if you are serious about buying the card you have to go pick it up. Heck for $200,000, what's another plane ticket and rental car to go get the thing in person.

The set included 3 baseball cards and the Ruth is the most valuable, but even in NM it doesn't quite book for 200k.
