Default Father & Son Shoes cards- 1939

Please show your Father and Son Shoes cards.....and if anyone has any info on them please bring it on. According to OldCardboard there are 17 in the set. I used to think there were 20. I have rarely seen them for sale...anyone? (I almost expect this to be the only post in this thread )

Great cards! I have always liked cards that show the outfield billboards. I had never heard of these cards.

Cool cards Leon. Are the backs blank? If not, do you have scans of them by chance? I must admit, I've never heard of these ones before.

Thanks,

AndyH

Jon- That is an awesome ad. Thanks for sharing!!

Andy- the backs are blank and these cards are a very different size than most cards, 3 x 4.

I am already pleasantly surprised at the responses. Maybe I shouldn't second guess our members.

Here is what I know about these cards. I have only seen 17 total but I believe there might be 18 or 20, evenly split between the A's and Phillies. They are not always blank backed. I have seen a few examples of an ad stamp on back. My only one is the Merrill May below. Really have only seen a handful in the last 20 years. A member here did have an opportunity to buy some not too long ago if i recall but not sure it ever happened.

Joshua (never count out the members!)

Yes 17 known subjects to date. Most are blank back, some stamped as stated above. Cool set distributed in Philadelphia area in 1939 by Father & Sons Shoes stores.
