Very interesting to learn about the foul pole which it makes sense now. So my question would be if the ball hit the foul poll back in 1917, would it be called a home run or foul?

I haven’t checked this out but I believe “back in the day” a walk off home run at the end of the game with men on base was only counted as a home run if the batter needed to score to win the game…. otherwise scored as a single double or triple….. would have to check that one out……
