IT"S BEEN SOLD. Thanks all!
For Sale or Trade: Amazing late 1800s's jersey, from Napavine, Washington. The town was a rural area that was settled in the 1850s, and laid out and named Napavine in 1883. Fore more info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Napavine,_Washington I have handled more than 20 full collar baseball uniforms, and this one is consisent with late 1800s versions as it has (a) coarse material, consistent with other late 1800s jerseys (1900s to 1915 jerseys almost always have more refined wool), and (b) the button placket on this jersey is super wide, consistent with many late 1800s cabinet photos of jerseys. Late 1800s baseball jerseys were not always lace up, and many were button up, like this one. Does have some condition issues, noted in all pictures, including on the sleeves, and back. Also missing a piece on the back bottom left (probably used as a patch for the pants, which was often done back in the day; pants are long gone). It is a long jersey, and full adult size. Has full name across chest, and displays very nicely from front. Unique Feature: Has a black under-collar material that matches the NAPAVINE accross chest; very rare and interesting. Also comes with late 1800s short-brim cap, which overall, is in very nice condition with some staining on one of the panels. This cap came with the jersey long ago, and was told it was the one that was used with the uniform. Price for jersey and cap: $1,450 insured shipping. I also have this listed on ebay for $1690 ($1650 plus $40 insured shipping); offering it here for less, as I would avoid ebay fees if we deal direct, and passing those fee savings onto you. OR wiling to trade for similar value late 1800s ring bats, early 1900s decal bats, mushroom bats, other uniforms and caps; high end gloves, etc. Show me something interesting, and a trade may be possible. If easier to view the photos over email or text, please direct message me at: antiquebaseballuniforms@gmail.com and I can email or text them to you. Thanks for your interest, Cheers, Mark Last edited by antiquebaseballuniforms; 11-11-2021 at 06:23 AM. |
