Hi-
I am a frequent antique shopper and sometimes buy things on a whim. This is one such item. I believe it is handmade. Is there any chance this might depict a sports figure? One person I showed it to thought it might be a woman. There is a cape on the back. I also spoke to someone who believed one of the earliest woman baseball pictures shows a woman with a cape as part of her uniform. Does anyone have any ideas on what this might depict? If it helps, I purchased it at antique shop in Sturbridge MA several weeks ago but there was nothing on the tag to further identify it. Does anyone have any 19th century photos of sports players with capes they can share? Any ideas or thoughts are greatly appreciated. Alan |
