Opinions of this Ted Williams? Looks good to me, but the Splendid Splinter has tripped me up before.

Interesting. This supposedly came from a bulk lot of 8x10s from the Ted Williams estate auction at Hunt's.
Thanks for the information. Thought I was finally getting the knack to identifying good 'ole Ted. Back to the drawing board! Last edited by MrSeven; 09-18-2017 at 01:56 PM. |

I will bet you that did not come from Hunt auctions.

Here is the "supposed" lot. Wondering if someone pulled a bait & switch.

I am wrong. It did come from there web site. I just hate gold liquid pens. They tend to fade and look sloppy.
That was a great guess that the signature was authentic. How did you figure that out. ![]() |

I agree. Gold pens just always look wrong to me, even when they're good.

![]() I guess I made the assumption that since gold pen is arguably weird/undesirable that why would a forger decide to use it? Last edited by MrSeven; 09-19-2017 at 11:54 AM. |

A forger would like to use all the liquid pens. It covers up many mistakes that you would see when it is signed in pen.

Picked it up because it had a nice flow and luckily Hunt Auctions has an auction archive! ![]() |
