Another board member pointed this out to me. If they want to out themselves, that's fine, but I won't.
Check out the cert numbers. (Part 1)

A very nice submission to SGC.

What am I missing? REA got in a good raw consignment and sent it in for grading. They even said so in their descriptions, I believe. Or maybe it was mulitple consignments and they sent them in on the same form. That would be pretty awesome to have all of those cards in raw form at once. I bet there are some collections still out there that are just like this.

Where did 1, 8, and 12 go?

I guess this shows that there are still quite a few of the rare T206's out there that are still in raw form. Who knows what the real population of the Plank is, for example. Some say 100 but it could be twice that.

WOWZA that's quite a submission! I wonder if it all came from one collector?

Very good point. I have heard from several old time collectors that there are a lot of raw nice rare cards out in the world which have never been slabbed or counted or tabulated and which some day in the future will find their way on to the market. Mark Macrae indicated once to me that there are several anonymous collectors who have large collections of unslabbed, untabulated PCL cards.

Wouldn't it be Charlie Conlon's stuff?

I think it's Chuck Knoblach's collection!

Sounds like a conspiracy to me. Thanks for pointing it out. So how much did REA make off this conspiracy?

Could it have been one or more raw collections submitted by an auction house prior to auctioning them off?

![]() That was the rumor I heard, but it was unsubstantiated... until now. Headline now reads: "Barry Sloate says Charlie Conlon had good cards!"

Well we know the Doyle was Charlie's, that was no secret. And I know he had multiple Planks that he collected over the years ago. So that's my guess.

To be honest, I have a vested interest in asking. The Goudey Lajoie is #16 in that sequence.

![]() Do NOT let your Lajoie find out you're looking at others! You'll be in big trouble at home. (Psst. Are you saying I should flip it on the BST?)

I think that most, if not all, of these cards are from the Charlie Conlon estate.
Here is your Lajoie's brother: |

After reading the catalog description for the N172 California League Doyle (Lot #1 in REAs recent auction), I'm thinking it is also from Charlie Conlon's collection.

As far as rare (scarce?) cards still in raw collections, I personally know of a
T206 collection that has yet to hit the market (may not for that matter), with several green Cobbs, and a Magie error, highlighting its 500+ cards. Its nice to know there is still that sort of stuff out there in private collections (not been offered at auction). |

It states in the description for the sgc 50 magie that it is from conlon's collection. Not sure about the others.

The N172 Doyle was not from the Conlon collection.
