Absolutely weird. It looks like the winning bidder placed a bid and one other person just kept jacking it up. Why? Good question. That card is just horrible. Not only is the ad cut but the name, position and team information are cut off also. |

One thing you learn collecting OJ's is don't be surprised by any high prices,it just happens too often. All you need is 2 people who have been looking for a certain player, and when it isnt one of the most common players, they could've been looking for 6 months+, so when that one shows up they go hardcore for it |

I know there are some who will buy these cards, I just can't do it. I collect Detroit Old Judge and have passed up many with ads cut off the bottom. There is a Cabinet right now in the 19th Century auction with the bottom cut off, I just can't pull the trigger on that one either. But, if some collectors are happy with these cards, well that's ok too. |

I am perfectly happy to pull the trigger on the skinned/trimmed OJ's, but I will never go that high when the "common's" that I've been after so far have gone for less than that for an intact card. |

Amazing how many players become "unknown" when the name is cut off. There is nothing special about Reddy Walsh and the pose is a common one. Looks to me like the card went for about $200 too much. |

If someone bid that much because of the unknown in the title its their own fault. I told Dan who the player/team was about 2 hours after it was listed(7 day auction) and he had the first revision up minutes later, and a 2nd,more bold revision up shortly after that |

Jay, this was Dan McKee's auction and someone notified him straight away that it was Walsh of Omaha and he made the changes in the body of the auction..he couldn't change the title because someone had bid on it already. |

John, you beat me to it by a minute...I see now that you were the one who notified Dan. I thought perhaps it was an Omaha player because of the uniform, but I didn't know for sure so I didn't say anything. |

I knew it was Walsh right away because of the uniform combo he has on,not because of the pose. There aren't too many others with that Omaha striped shirt, and I knew it wasn't Nichols or Canavan. If you look at enough of these things, you can narrow down the "no names" pretty easy if you dont know them offhand. Basically the formula is: |

Maybe the person that won it is a Joe Walsh (James Gang and Eagles) fan and this was something kind of cool to them. Makes me want to break out the Joe Walsh's greatest hit CD. |
