As many of you have probably noticed, Mastro has an ad on the back cover of the current Old Cardboard touting a PSA 5 T206 Wagner to be auctioned Aug. 1st. To my knowledge, this is the finest example to be publicly offered in years besides the Gretsky PSA 8. With that recent BVG 1 catching $317K+, any thoughts on whether this could break $1mill? It's a diamond cut, and noted as such with the (MC), but definitely a beaut. Nice to see a strong mid-grade for a change. |

No doubt, that card will break the $1 million dollar barrier once the juice is factored in. |

I would be shocked if it did not break a million. My guess would be in the 1.3-1.5 range. But who knows with a card like this. It is the best to be offered in a long time. |

I bet this card goes for $1.6-$1.8 w/ BP. The number of buyers for a card like this are few obviously, but with nothing close to this card being listed recently I see it selling strong. |

Without seeing a scan, I say it will close under $1M ($925K). Leon - This hammer price would be a pretty cool board contest? |

I would think Don Louchios would be a near certain and strong bidder. Likely the Dreiers are strong bidders. Perhaps Ireland and Spence as well as other "influential buyers". |

Is it appropriate to be naming names on a public chatboard? Maybe some or all of these collectors would prefer privacy. |

Don't most people list on the registry with a pseudonym and not their real name? It may not matter, but these collectors might not read the board, and they may find out second hand that they are being discussed. It's a privacy and security issue, too. |

Well, one of thwe most interesting things on this message board to me is who is doing what and who may do what--particularly at the high end and how that impacts the PSA Set Registry. I don't see anything wrong with it and many times I learn who is doing what. For example, I did not know who owned the Wagner PSA 5s. That is important information to me. Also this guy that apparently owns all the slabs and the guy from Janus. Fascinating! |
