Trimmed W-517's...

I was looking at an auction for a W-517 of Lefty Grove yesterday. The border of the card had been trimmed off. I think the W-517's are just so-so as we normally see them. But this card with the border trimmed off looked stunning (aside from the tack holes in the top and bottom of the card).

I took an image of one of my cards and trimmed the border off. What do you guys think? Do these W-517's look better with the borders trimmed off or not? I would never trim the border off of a W-517, but I must admit that they look a lot better without the borders...

You are dead-on. Stunning is the word. So is sad. i guess the same effect could be had by a nice framing.
