1936 Goudey Premium question

Bobby Doerr did not break into the Major Leagues until April 20, 1037:

BUT...

the "big book" shows that Bobby Doerr is included in the 1936 Goudey R314 "wide pen" premium set.

So, one of two things is possible:

1) The set was actually issued in 1937, or

2) Doerr was a Minor Leaguer in the 1936 set.

Has anyone ever seen this card??

Does anyone know what team uniform Doerr is wearing in the photo?

Is it the 1937 Red Sox or the 1936 San Diego minor league uniform??

Bob Feller is also in this set, and he started pitching in the Major Leagues on July 19, 1936...

so this is further evidence that maybe the set really WASN'T produced until 1937?
