Just curious, but how many of the real T-206 Wagner cards actually are known to exist ? Does one come up in the auction catalogs once a year ? less often ? more often ? Who owns the best known condition one ? |

Best estimates are that there are 50 or so real Wagners around. |

i heard/read about 50 got released but around 10 were found to be in decent condition, as in psa 2 or above...this was a few years back so im sure a few others have popped up since the gretzky/mcnall purchase... |

I believe the finest Wagner resides in the Hall of Fame, it is allegedly Ex-MT. I have never seen the card, however I believe it was Barry Halpers. There are supposedly 3 Ex/Ex+ examples one of which is the PSA 5 and two of which are owned by very serious collectors. |

It's on tour right now in the "Baseball As America" exhibit. Currently at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts, and heading to Oakland in September. And yes, from the Barry Halper collection. It's nice, but I wouldn't call it ex-mt. |

He says it's 100% authentic. I'd be happy if it were 2% authentic. |

That's the first time I've ever heard Wagner threatened "to sew" if the card wasn't withdrawn from circulation. I'm sure the threat of Honus approaching with the sewing needle did the trick. |
