Famous T-206 Wagner card
Posted By: Alan
Just curious, but how many of the real T-206 Wagner cards actually are known to exist ? Does one come up in the auction catalogs once a year ? less often ? more often ? Who owns the best known condition one ?

Also, what happened to that woman who won it some years ago with that Walmart(?) promotion ? I know she had to sell the card to pay the taxes. Still, did she come out ahead ?

Thanks.

I believe there are 3 or 4 in the ex to ex/mt range (all but one ungraded), but none of them have been offered publically in more than ten years. It seems that one of the lesser grade examples are auctioned by one of the big auction houses every year or two. The vast majority of all the real Wagners are in the poor-good range. My guess would be that about 80-85% fall into that grade range.
JimB

Posted By: WP
I believe the finest Wagner resides in the Hall of Fame, it is allegedly Ex-MT. I have never seen the card, however I believe it was Barry Halpers. There are supposedly 3 Ex/Ex+ examples one of which is the PSA 5 and two of which are owned by very serious collectors.
