I think that the two high bidders are working on sets. I am working on Boston players and just have to find cards that both of them have. On this card one down one to go. |

Sometimes on ebay all you need is 2 people who place bids so they know they wont lose and one ends up paying alot more than they really wanted to.I know ive won stuff before where the final price didnt even reach the halfway point of what my max bid was. |

how tough is the Max Carey card? I haven't seen one on eBay since I have been back into vintage card collecting - around Oct. of last year. Also, after going through my old T207 checklist, the two T207's I never owned were Max Carey and Irving Lewis with emblem. I have picked these two up recently, since I never owned them, and thought they are probably more rare than the others in the set, since I had all of the other T207's (with correct backs - didn't get into the wrong back cards, as I considered them errors, instead of regular issued cards needed to complete a set). Thanks in advance for any answer. P.S. - I know the Lewis is extremely difficult, I'm just wondering about Max Carey. |

As a seller, you ideally want at least 3 bidders. Two to raise the price real high. The third, even if at minimum bid, so when one of the two high bidders gets second thoughts about his pricing he can reassure himself by seeing that two other people want it. |

The T207 Carey is not particularly difficult. Certainly in the more common half of the set. |
