M.F. Walker was the only 19th century black man in the majors--and that includes his brother, who as far as I know never played for the AA Blue Stockings. But White seems to have beaten him to it, even though he only played one game. |

I dont know why you wouldnt consider the American Association a major league,a lot of great stars played in the league during its 8 year existance? |

I just didn't know that Wellday played for them (even 5 games--why'd he quit? Or was he demoted?). Moses played the whole year, until the BSs folded. |
