Stumbled across this fascinating clip from 1982, from what looks like a Nationally televised weekend game between the A's and the Red Sox.
Check out Umpire Russ Goetz. This is an ump with a loooong fuse. Caught hell from Dwight Evans, Jim Rice, Mike Heath, Cliff Johnson, Ralph Houk and of course Billy Martin. Had a pitcher on the mound everybody was swearing was gooping up the ball, including a young Bob Costas and whoever his announcing partner was. Had the benches clear.
