I'm sure there's a good reason, but why is it so difficult for auction houses to put cards in chronological order per sport in a catalogue?

I am guessing its so that people who would normally only look at pre 1920s stuff look at 1950's stuff and vice versa. Increases the impulse bidding -- Oh, thats cool, maybe I will bid on that. Or, man, look at all these Mantles. Maybe I need a Mantle or two.

I too prefer to see all the stuff I want in the first pages (1900-1920) and then I can skip the balance of the auction items starting with the 1933 goudeys. But I will admit, leafing through the Memory Lane catalogue, I saw several interesting items that I never would have looked at if chronological.

Could anyone who has a consignment in Memory Lane and wants to pimp it without appearing it's his consignment please post it in this thread and not start a new one? Trust me, you'll still fool the same number of people.

I tend to agree. Although, after just speaking with the OP, he is not a consignor and I 100% believe him.

That said, our advertisers get a lot of leeway discretion, as they help support the forum.

Thanks Leon. No consignments from me, just an incredible auction and I like the conversations here when great stuff pops up. Just putting it out there that's all.

Just went thru the preview and wow another strong selection by memory lane.

Love the diversity and quality of cards, photos and so much more.

To many auctions, to close together, and to much good stuff keeps coming

It is a Sensory and Budgetary overload.

p.s. I see the link to the winter auction now, perhaps was a cookies issue and was loading the old page. Thanks!

Sheesh. They have all kinds of amazing items. One of those auctions where I have to flip to about the very last page to find something I can even consider bidding on!
