Just thought I’d share that it feels like scams (and potential scams) are happening with much more frequency.
I want to share a recent experience. I had a WTB note on the BST and a person by the name of Adams Randall reached out with pics saying he had what I wanted. I found the same pics on eBay. I told him a price I’d pay thinking he might be the eBay seller. He asked me to pay $270 via PayPal f/f to a different PayPal address than the one he was using to correspond with me. I asked for his Net54 username. I also sent a note to the seller on eBay (lots of positive feedback and 100% rating) and asked for a response before I’d pay f/f. He said he was having trouble accessing his eBay account. He was a bit pushy via email and a day later said it would be okay to pay via PayPal goods/services. So many red flags. Actually, everything seemed okay but I was careful to get additional details and then the many orange flags created a red flag situation. My spidey senses were tingling. I ignored additional email attempts from the scammer. After a few days, I got a response on eBay from the real seller of this set (w/ those pics) and he informed me that he is not Adams Randall. Close call. Good to trust your instincts. Moral of the story. Be careful out there. Be smart. Good sellers should have hobby contacts and people who can vouch for them.
