My God... The bleeding and feathering could not be more obvious. Did this not strike Drew Max as a serious issue?

Guys, just to be sure I understand. The Feathering occurs when Fresh ink is put on an old ball?

If that baseball is an example of the "new" auto pen process being discussed on the board than the hobby has NOTHING to worry about.
The process of "new" ink being applied to old leather is usually visible under magnification. In fact "new" ink applied to old paper can usually be identified as well. By looking for rate of absorption. Its not that difficult if you know what you are looking for.
Where it gets tricky is with pencil signatures

Yes. It is even more apparent when ink is applied to old paper.
