Question about number of cards in vintage packs?

Gents,
I'm considering purchasing some vintage packs of baseball cards, but I'd like some more info on the cards. I just Google searched and found a few answers, but I could not quickly locate answers to the below questions:

1. How many baseball cards are in a 1955 unopened Bowman wax pack, in a 1958 Christmas rack pack (is it 12?) and in a 1963 Topps one cent wax pack?

2. Is it easy to discretely open the 1955 Bowman and 1963 Topps wax packs, search and reseal them up with commons?

Welcome to the forum MEBBoy. I am not sure of the numbers of cards in those packs but I bet someone will be able to tell you. Please know, for future reference, that we do have a separate place for post-WWII baseball and other cards. Is the 1955 Bowman a 1 cent wax pack or a 5 cent wax pack? The 5 cent wax pack has 9 cards. The 1 cent wax pack I believe only has 1 card.

All Christmas rack packs are bogus. Stay away. But, to answer your question, they contain 12 cards.

A 1963 Topps 1 cent wax pack only contains 1 card.

Most of the 1 cent wax packs are very easy to determine the card inside as you can look through the wrapper.

Yes. If you're going to spend that kind of money, I would only buy graded packs.

Speaking of old wax packs, I would be interested in purchase some nickel packs that are PSA graded for the following years if possible.

Thanks for the info. Yes, the 55 Bowman is a 1 cent pack. I initiailly thought I had found a good deal/buy, but I did not know that 2 of the packs I was interested in (55 Bowman & 63 Topps) have only 1 card. I think I will pass on this buy.

I believe the '57 nickel pack is extraordinarily rare...and will set you back [thousands] if and when you ever find one.

If you're collecting vintage unopened packs, a trusted dealer is much, much more important than price. Yes, these packs can be scammed, and the likelihood of getting scammed is higher on Ebay, with untrusted dealers, etc. GAI, for instance, has had numerous evolutions with some packs being rock solid and others being resealed, impossible garbage.

Marc, '57 nickel isn't tough at all, '58 nickel is brutal, 2nd toughest after '56. '59 nickel is reputed to be a bit difficult, but either that is overstated or I got lucky.
