For anyone interested in stone lithography similar to what was used to produce most of the cards we collect there are a couple nice pictures here.
http://www.creativereview.co.uk/cr-b...11/april/tnker The prep and press are probably very close to how T206s were made. The overall working conditions likely very far removed since it's an art house in 2011 not a busy commercial printer in 1911. Steve B |

Artists still use many of the old time printing processes-- woodcuts, etchings, engravings, etc.
I learned how to do all these years back on a hand printing press years back in an art class, but, don't worry, don't have the competency to be churning out fake Allen & Ginter Joe Jacksons. Last edited by drc; 04-20-2011 at 12:26 PM. |
