I know that is Honus Wagner in there, can any confirm if the pitcher to the left is Walter Johnson?

I was wondering, what would Honus Wagner and Walter Johnson be doing in Cincinnati together in the early 1900's? Can someone give me a history lesson.

That was my first thought. My second thought was I'd hate to be the guy standing behind the target if the pitcher missed!

I don't know if it's him or not, but I'd suggest being a little more skeptical about auction descriptions.

The Hunt description (from 8+ years ago) for those interested:
http://www.huntauctions.com/online/i...=278&lot_qual=

One other point - the earliest this PC would be is 1907 as it has a divided back.

i hear ya. In the Hunt descrip. it says Wagner is using a pitching machine. Is that a pitching machine at SS, or is it a target?

Old Judge and I know he is a member can perhaps shine more light on this as he listed one of these in his auction back in '09:

"Lot 119. PC Kraemer Art Palace of the Fans Stadium PC Honus Wagner SGC 50 VG/EX 4. Very popular and rare card showing Wagner bent over target in what obviously was a contest of some kind at the ballpark. "
