Were the cards (1) graded and (2) being sent to you via Registered Mail?
If so, that would be reason for hope. Registered Mail can be slow at times. However, it tends to be the most secure delivery method. Packages are given different treatment (scanned every step of the way, kept under lock and key, etc.) than other items the Post Office handles.
