Simple answer -- it's a Buck Weaver bat! While it's not from his playing days, it's got his name factory side-written on it -- is there another one of those in existence? I think the buyer got a great deal (somehow it must have slipped through the crack at Legendary -- I've bought a number of things at major auctions over the years, just because I realized they were selling for a ridiculously low price -- great bargains can still be found at major auctions).
As for the Chuck Carroll, it appears it was thrown in as an interesting coincidence, and was billed as that, nothing more -- as Jimmy would say -- a great companion piece.
I was more surprised at some other bats -- the Al Lopez I thought went very low. There is maybe only one other known. True this one had condition problems, but it's incredibly rare.
I thought the Eddie Collins Stahl & Dean went for a very high price, same with the early Reggie.
