There's an auction section in BST. I tried it myself for the first time, and I think it's a good way to go.

Or you could put a price and say OBO.

I'm not sure about simply "best offer" in the regular BST.

To me it would have the feel of an "auction" where the competition if any wasn't known. In those sorts of setups reasonable offers often get bumped by "someone else who's interested" A fine short term strategy, but not a good one long term. The way it fails is when too many cards get "sold" to the imaginary someone else. Then when relisted excuses are needed and in a small group you just don't get that many deals that fall through. And that sort of rep drives prices down for sellers that do that sort of thing.

If the item was very expensive, I could see where you might want to have private offers made, and it's a bit more standard then.
