Trim it down to one card, then toss it into a bowl of lukewarm water. Use a weight to hold it down. Let it soak for half an hour or so and then check it. It should just lift right off if the glue is water soluble. If it won't budge at all and seems like the water didn't help in any way, then the glue is not water soluble and you won't be able to remove the card without damage. Once it's out, stick it between a folded paper towel and put a book on top of it. Let it soak up the water and then change out the paper towel after an hour. Then change out the paper towel again after about 4 hours. Then change it again before you go to bed. Then change it again the next morning. Then change it one last time in the afternoon and let it sit again overnight. It should be dry the next day. Put it in a top loader or semi-ridgid and let it rest flat.

This is how you do it.

My limited experience hasn't worked out. I have only soaked post-war cards, and all the tape/glue has not been water soluble. Still, it most definitely did not hurt to try.
