You'll always face good teams in the post season, although I would argue the 1966 Dodgers and 1969 Mets were not hard-hitting teams - they just had the best pitching in the NL.
If you want to choose an Oriole, McNally was better than Palmer in the WS: 4-2, which is the same, but much lower ERA, 2.34 to 3.20. Even Cuellar had a better WS ERA at 2.61.
